16.03: The Devil Is Dope by Alan B
“How does this list relate to my recovery? Both times I have been in the depths of addiction, to heroin in the late nineties and until recently alcohol, I isolated myself from the world and people. I also stopped listening to and playing music. Both times when I cleaned myself up music poured back into my life. Just to be putting this mix together and playing in the local band I have joined is testament to my recovery. There are a few tunes here who’s lyrical content relate to recovery (Kicking the Habit, Reborn, In One Peace, The Devil is Dope), but to me all music connects to my recovery. Music is joy. Music is life. Music is connection.”
