I am a creative person. Drawing is very peaceful and it helps me to relax. I love being able to express myself through my style of art! At the beginning of my recovery doing artwork is part of what kept me sober. I would get so completely wrapped up in a design that I would often forget about cravings and my withdrawal symptoms. Sometimes my art reflects how I am feeling. For example I was quite angry and upset one day and I drew a snarling wolf. I rarely did art before I got sober. So it’s been nice to be drawing again. It’s actually opened up several opportunities I never would have imagined before I got clean and sober.
